Recall that three anti-corruption lawsuits were filed against Mr. Chernov, who was the chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court from 1994 to 2019. As a result, dozens of real estate properties, including land plots, were returned to the state.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Mr. Chernov and his relatives are the owners of LLC Agrofirma Vozdvizhenskaya, Losevo and Agricultural Farm Dmitrievskoye, numerous land plots, residential and non-residential premises and buildings in Moscow, Sochi, Krasnodar, Gelendzhik and Kropotkin, as well as motor vehicles and bank accounts.

The status of a judge prohibited Alexander Chernov from engaging in business and receiving income from it. Despite this, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the high-ranking judge acquired companies and actually managed them, generating income for himself, his relatives and controlled persons. The funds received from illegal business were invested in the purchase of expensive real estate, which was used, among other things, for commercial purposes.
