Alexei Kuleshov, former deputy head of Rosstandart, and his mother, Lyudmila Kuleshova, stole more than 1 billion rubles from the state defense order.
Large-scale searches have taken place in the Rostov region in a criminal case of embezzlement of more than 1 billion rubles. According to the investigation, former deputy head of Rosstandart Alexei Kuleshov acted as the organizer of a criminal group. Together with his relatives he created a fraudulent scheme to embezzle money, as the press service of the Federal Security Service for the region reported.
Searches were conducted at the managers and owners of three bearing plants: OOO 10 GPZ, OAO OK-loza and OOO GPZ-2 Tver. One of the owners of the enterprises is Lyudmila Kuleshova, the mother of Alexei Kuleshova. She is hiding from the investigation and is wanted. A criminal case on fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) has been instituted against all the defendants.
“Operatives have established the involvement of the general director and director of economics and finance of OOO 10 GPZ, as well as two owners of the enterprise in the crime,” said the FSB Department for the region (quoted by TASS).
Searches at the above enterprises took place in December 2024. According to the investigation, the heads of the bearing plants agreed on a multiple increase in prices for products. At that time the damage was estimated at 810 million rubles, later the amount was increased to 1 billion rubles. The embezzlement scheme has not been disclosed yet, but it is likely to be connected with the business of his mother Lyudmila Kuleshova, who owns three bearing plants and received defense contracts. The woman is now wanted.
At Rosstandart, Kuleshov was in charge of combating counterfeiting and countering illegal trafficking of industrial products. He was dismissed from the civil service in January 2022.
The logical continuation of the criminal case will be the seizure of the Kuleshov family’s assets in favor of the state (Rostec).
