The arrested vice-governor of the Belgorod region has been accused of embezzling 32 million rubles.
Vice-governor of Belgorod region Rustem Zainullin, arrested on suspicion of fraud, is accused of embezzling 32 million rubles from the budget. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the investigation, Mr. Zainullin personally stole at least 4 million rubles, allocated from the budget for the construction of fortifications. In the case of fraud on a large scale as part of an organized group (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code), he faces up to ten years in prison.
Rustem Zainullin has been vice-governor of the Belgorod region since 2022. In his post he supervises land and property relations in the region. Prior to that, since 2021 Mr. Zainullin held the position of advisor to the head of the region.
