The ex-head of the Rostov regional court could not get out of the pre-trial detention center.
In Krasnodar, the Pervomaisky district court during the first preliminary hearing in the criminal case of the former chairwoman of the Rostov regional court Elena Zolotareva and four other defendants granted the prosecution’s motion to extend the measure of restraint in the form of custody, Kommersant was informed by the united press service of the region’s courts. The preventive measure has been extended for three months.
The ex-chairman of the Rostov Regional Court Elena Zolotareva and her former deputy Tatyana Yurova are accused of taking large and especially large bribes (part 5 and part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the ex-head of the regional administration of the judicial department Andrey Roshchevsky, the former chairman of the Zheleznodorozhny district court of Rostov-on-Don Georgy Bondarenko and businessman Albert Romanov are brought to responsibility for mediation in corruption schemes (part 4 of article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The criminal case on corruption in the judicial system of the Rostov region, in which Elena Zolotareva and her confidants became defendants, was initiated in 2023. In December 2024 the case came for consideration to Kirovsky district court of Rostov-on-Don, but the prosecutor’s office initiated a change of jurisdiction due to the presence of the accused’s connections in the judicial system of Rostov region. The case began to be considered by the Pervomaisky District Court of Krasnodar.
