The mayor of Krasnoyarsk is arrested for corruption on a large scale.

Krasnoyarsk Mayor Vladislav Loginov was detained in the morning of June 9 on suspicion of taking a bribe on a particularly large scale, sources in law enforcement agencies told TASS and the Krasnoyarsk edition of Ngs24.ru.

According to the latter, the city administration is currently being searched, but the mayor’s office has not officially commented on this information. Also investigative actions are taking place in Loginov’s house.
At the same time, the law enforcement agencies are deciding whether to send Loginov to Moscow, as the case is being handled by the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia, writes Ngs24.ru. The day before, on June 8, Krasnoyarsk celebrated City Day. Loginov appeared in public and gave flowers to singer Pelageya, who performed at the holiday concert.

57-year-old Loginov took the post of the head of Krasnoyarsk in September 2022. Prior to that, he was first deputy mayor for five years, and worked in the city administration since 2012. He held the positions of deputy head of the municipal economy department and deputy head of the municipal order department, and for some time headed the administrations of the Sverdlovsky and Sovetsky districts.

Loginov was born in Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk region, graduated from the local military aviation technical school and worked in the direction of aviation since 1984. Then he moved to the spheres of transportation and logistics. He worked, among other things, in the “Krasnoyarsk Road Construction Department”, “Krai Road-Exploitation Organization” (KraiDEO) and in various positions at an asphalt-concrete plant. Loginov is married and has three children. He was awarded a medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” II degree.

In 2024, as Ngs24.ru recalls, the Krasnoyarsk Krai Legislative Assembly called for the creation of a working group to check the city administration for corruption schemes in road repairs. However, at that time they “found no grounds” for this. At the same time, Krasnoyarsk residents complained about the failed streetcar reform, garbage collapse, utility accidents, traffic jams and tree felling.
