The State Secretary of Dagestan was released on his own recognizance after the nationalization of his business empire.
Dagestan State Secretary Magomed-Sultan Magomedov, who was detained earlier, has been released on his own recognizance, TASS reports citing the region’s law enforcement agencies.
He was detained on June 25 as part of an investigation into illegal privatization. Several Telegram channels claim that the case is related to the privatization of Dagneftproduct. Later, the Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala satisfied the civil suit of the General Prosecutor’s Office to turn all of Mr. Magomedov’s assets into state revenue.
The General Prosecutor’s Office decided that Magomed-Sultan Magomedov gained his assets as a result of corruption offenses. According to Kommersant, the businessman has fully admitted his responsibility.
