Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg has satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office on seizure of property of the former deputy head of the main department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for St. Petersburg and Leningrad region Sergey Moiseenko. The total value of the seized property exceeded 100 million rubles. This was reported in the press service of the department.
In total, the defendant managed to buy nine premium-class cars and 18 real estate objects. Some of them were bought abroad, their value is estimated at €1.2 million. To hide the profits, the man registered all the objects on trusted persons. At the same time, the ex-deputy head was unable to prove the legality of the income.
Sergey Moiseenko once supervised the construction of the detention center “Kresty-2”. In 2021, he was sentenced to three years in a strict regime colony for taking bribes worth more than 700 million rubles. A year earlier, the defendant was found guilty of organizing the murder of Nikolai Chernov, the supervisor of the construction of the Kresty pre-trial detention facility, for which he was given 15 years in prison.
